A New Standard in Coach Training is about to be born

Posted on Jul 17th, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary
On Friday, August 1st, 2008, a new coach training school will emerge.  This school will focus on the 11 Core Competencies and Ethical Standards as recognized by coach certification bodies the world over.  However, the difference between this coach training school and all the others that are out there, is that it also teaches you strategies and techniques to market and grow your coaching practice.

What is the name of this coach training school?  Quest Coach Training.

Right now I'm waiting for the designer and copywriter to finish to finish with the design and text for the website, but I do have a blog there right now, just so there is something that people can read to find out more about Quest Coach Training.

I believe that a school's success should be determined by the success of it's students.  Keeping that in mind, my goal for Quest is that it will graduate more successful coaches than any other coach training program.

Head on over to Quest Coach Training and listen to my audio where I talk about the Quest Coach Training difference.

Blessings,

Gary

Are You Living In Heaven Or Hell?

Posted on Mar 31st, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary
Did you know that we have the power to create Heaven or Hell? And that this is the true Heaven or Hell that we learned about through our religious teachers?

We are told that the afterlife will be either Heaven or Hell for us, but in reality the Heaven and Hell spoke of in The Bible is actually here right now. This time, this place. By your own choice you live in Heaven or Hell.

The Hell that people live in though is the Hell created by the negativity they allow themselves to be ruled by day after day. The negativity that wanders around in our brains, telling us that we are not good enough, that we don’t deserve this or that. This negativity can also take the form of an overinflated ego that makes one believe they are better than others.

On a daily basis, our ego plays its scripts over and over in our heads, repeating old phrases to remind us of “who we really are”. But the ego lies. You are not your ego, so do not let it keep you in your self-made Hell any longer. Free yourself from its grasp so that you can finally live the life you were supposed to live.

Become the person you are to become and life will open like a delicate flower for you, exposing its intricate treasures that lie within. Life can truly be like that. A wonder to behold. An inspiration in itself.

When you can approach the world without ego, you will find more love, more beauty, and you will also experience miraculous events. Events that will awe as well as inspire.

Would you like to live that kind of life? I live it every day. I am a walking miracle.

Most of you do not know that I survived a possibly life threatening illness that many who are diagnosed are never cured of. I was diagnosed with it in June 2001, with no symptoms. The diagnosis came from a routine blood test during a yearly physical. The disease was Hepatitis C. (And yes, I attracted this disease to me by my actions way back in 1979 and 32 years later they came back to bite me in the ass)

I went through the prescribed treatment of weekly self injections and swallowing 6 large pills every day. During this time I had returned to college and one of the classes I had was Introduction to Philosophy. This started me on my spiritual quest.

The entire time I was on medication I kept a positive attitude. I was already slightly aware of the side-effects of the medications before I began the process so I was a bit prepared for them. However, I was not that prepared.

Daily I had to fight to keep from being depressed. Attending college helped with that, as well as working a full-time job. It was tough, but I was able to maintain a somewhat normal life.

During all this time I began searching in earnest for answers to the questions that were arising from this whole experience. I guess you could say I was pondering my own mortality. But what really happened was that I began a journey at that point and it has led me down many paths.

I began reading more “New Age” books and books on Spirituality, and began wondering about the things I read in them. I then looked at the world through different eyes as my spirituality was awakened and I became a seeker of spiritual truths.

I say all this to make a point. I could have lived through Hell during this period in my life, but I chose not to. Instead I chose to live in Heaven and although it was very trying at times to say the least, I created the reality I was living. I created my own Heaven out of the Hell that I was experiencing, and was better off for it.

I have met many new people during my journey and several I have brought along with me. One thing that it has all taught me is that we truly are creators and we create the life we live, be it a good life, or a bad one, it’s ultimately our choice.

By this choice, we are creating either Heaven or Hell for ourselves.

Many, many people, and we see them daily, appear beaten down by the weight of the negativity they focus on. You’ve seen these people, I know you have. You look at them and you just want them to wake up to the true reality that is right in front of them. To wake up to the beauty that they are missing.

But alas, they do not wake up and continue to live in the Hell of their choosing.

So where are you living? Are you living in Heaven or are you living in Hell? Remember, it’s your choice where you live.

Peace, Abundance, and Blessings,

Gary

Lessons From Daisy

Posted on Jan 26th, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

Pets can provide us with many lessons while they are in our lives. One main lesson they teach us is unconditional love. That’s what I receive from my dog Daisy on a constant basis.

Daisy is an exceptional dog though, at least that’s what people say. We got her when she was 6 weeks old and I had her housebroken in 2 weeks. That’s when she first went to the door by herself and scratched, letting us know she wanted to go “out”. During those 2 weeks, she never did anything put pee in a few places. She never pooped. As a matter of fact, she only did that once and she was sick at the time. Anyway, I digress.

Daisy

Daisy is a very loving dog. When someone comes to the house, she picks up immediately whether they are a friend or not from us. Once they enter, she gives them a very boisterous welcome like they are a long lost friend just back from an extended trip. Heck, I get treated this way every time I come in the house, no matter whether I just left, or have been gone for hours or days. It’s hard to come home in a bad mood and stay that way with Daisy around.

Our pets actually accept us as we all wish to be accepted really. Without judgment. Well, that is if they aren’t mistreated. They love us no matter what we do. We can fail miserably at something and still our pets will greet us at the door with love. We can get fired from our job, and still it doesn’t matter to them. Some of you may say, well they are only dumb animals after all, but they are far more intelligent than we give them credit. And really, since we have not mastered unconditional love, are we that much more evolved than they are? If only we humans could master unconditional love, the world would definitely be a much better place.

It seems every where you go, you are always being judged by someone, for one reason or other. People we don’t even know, and would probably never know, will look at us and immediately judge us on our looks, what we are wearing, how we are carrying ourselves, whether we’re with someone or not, the list goes on and on. How many times have you been judged by someone you love because you didn’t do what they thought you should do? And how many times have you judged someone yourself? I’m sure if you look deep in your memory (for some you might not have to think that far back) and I’m sure you’ll find an instance when you judged someone, be it unfairly or not.

But our pets don’t do that to us. If we do raise our voice to them and spout off with a stream of negativity, they still come to us with love in their hearts. If we perhaps forget to feed them on time, they still show us loving adoration. Plain and simple, they just love us for being who we are. No matter what we do, they will send back a steady stream of love to us.

So the next time you feel yourself judging someone, think about your pet and the unconditional love you receive from them. Then look at that person you were getting ready to judge and send loving vibrations towards them.

You might be surprised at what could happen.

Peace, Abundance, and Blessings,

Gary

Karma, Or Do Unto Others…

Posted on Jan 22nd, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

Karma as defined by Jane L. Robertson & Deborah Hughes in their book, “Metaphysical Primer” is actually nothing more than “cause and effect”. And when we really take a close look at the Law of Karma, that is exactly what it shows us.

This is not some “New Age” thinking, oh no. It is illustrated in The Bible in Luke 6:31 “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This is also known as The Golden Rule.

What that Bible passage is telling us is that in order for us to be treated the way we wish, then we must treat others as we wish to be treated. Basically this boils down to a matter of respecting other’s rights.

Now, according to the Law of Karma, we receive back that which we put forth. Hmm, sound similar to something else I just said?

Many people believe that if they do wrongs in this lifetime, they will pay for them in the next lifetime. Well I propose that there is a more immediate reaction and result that manifests itself in our current daily lives.

For example, a person cuts you off and you get angry, curse, give them the “finger”, and just spew forth wilingly and profusely a torrent of negativity. And it’s all aimed at the other person.

Say you are on your way home from work when this happens, and you fume all the way home about this ” *@!$()_*$# idiot driver”. By the time you get home you are in a very ripe mood and you walk in the house. Your spouse, or significant other, is already home sitting in front of the TV with the newspaper lying on the floor beside the chair. You immediately go into a tirade about how they should learn to pick up after themselves, and on and on it goes.

You have just entered the “Karma Zone.”

As you continue to vent your frustration on your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, house mate, room mate, significant other, whatever, you immediately get back from them what you are giving them. Well, perhaps not immediately, but for most people, you soon draw them into your negativity and at that point “it is ON!”

Rewind a bit.

You get cut off in traffic on the way home. You immediately feel the rise of anger within you and you let it surface. But instead of regurgitating a stream of profanities at this person, you decide to just let go of the anger, and say a silent prayer that this person does not cause someone harm.

You’ve just turned a negative into a positive, and when you get home you still find the same situation as above, but you walk in, kiss the person, ask them about their day, and begin your daily unwind from the “world of work”. In the end you have no fight with your partner, you enjoy a fantastic meal with each other, then settle in for a night of watching TV, reading, talking, whatever pleases you both.

At the end of the day, you’ll feel much better than if you had taken the negative route in this situation.

So Karma can and does have a more immediate effect on our lives than we sometimes give it. Does this mean we should be scared of the Law of Karma? Nope. By having the knowledge that this law does exist and is at work in our lives every minute of every day, we begin to focus on doing what our inner selves know is right for the situation.

I hope this post has been of value to you.  Please feel free to leave a comment on this or any other posts.

Peace, Abundance, and Blessings,

Gary

Living Easy

Posted on Jan 17th, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

I was having a discussion yesterday with a few people, and I was explaining to them how we are the one and only cause of all stress in our lives. None of them agreed with me.

One lady pointed out that she had no control over her stress when she was taking care of her dying husband, then his death was even more stressful. She also pointed out that the man sitting in front of her was taking care of his ailing wife and he had no control over the stress this causes.

Well, it doesn’t matter what either of these people think, but it is absolutely true that we are the one and only cause of all the stress in our lives. No matter what the situation, we have the control to be either stressed or not. It’s all just a matter of choice.

You see, the woman that took care of her dying husband only felt stress because of her thoughts about the whole situation. I’m sure that she experiencd a myriad of emotions during this time. However, it was her choice to experience these emotions.

One thing that she was probably stressing about was the fact that she was losing her husband. Which is perfectly normal for anyone in that situation. But could this be “handled” differently with a more pleasant outcome? It sure can.

What this woman is actually doing is focusing on “her loss”. Get that? HER loss. She isn’t thinking that her husband is making a glorious transition to the Spirit plane, but instead she’s thinking of herself.

Now granted, she may feel sympathy towards her husband since he lingered on for quite some time, but does that mean she had to get stressed about it? Not at all.

When you look at death honestly and realize that all it is is a process everyone must go through in order to evolve to a higher plane of existence, death no longer has the “fear factor” that is so often associated with it. When you look at death in this way, you can only conclude that the individual is truly better off because they have evolved beyond our physical plane.

So if you look at the death of someone as being a stressful, emotion filled experience, then you must remember that you are only thinking of yourself. You THINK you are concerned about the death of this person, but in all actuality you are more concerned about the void created in your life by this person’s death. Isn’t that a bit selfish?

And really, when everyone goes back to the home of the individual, and mopes around with a “Woe is ME!” attitude, isn’t that wallowing in our own self-pity? Shouldn’t we instead celebrate the life of this person and their successful transition? Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to have a big party with everyone having a good time, toasting the life of the individual?

That’s what I’d rather have, and although I haven’t discussed it with my wife yet, I know she will respect my wishes and have a big blow-out party. Yes, celebrate that I have made my transition! Celebrate the time I had here on earth! Celebrate the accomplishments I’ve experienced! CELEBRATE, CELEBRATE, CELEBRATE!

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that I’m looking forward to death any time soon. Oh no, not at all. I personally feel I have much work to do here on Earth, and that I have only just begun with it all.

So do you effectively “handle” stress? Do people at work really irritate you? Are you easily irritated? And how do you look at death? Is it something stressful? Or is it a joyous transitional experience that should be celebrated? Would you like to learn how better to “handle” the stress you experience? Would you like to find out how to be at peace with yourself and all around you? Then go HERE to find out how you can do that.

Peace, Abundance, and Blessings,

Gary

Awaken!

Posted on Jan 13th, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

Yes, that is what is happening, all across the globe. People are awakening to their spirituality; seeking universal truths, becoming responsible for their future, and past, and are creating a movement that is sweeping across the Earth.

Many people have sought shelter in traditional religious avenues, and that is ok. Others have gone to more secular teachings, while others still have gained a more esoteric view of religious beliefs and dogma. All of this is perfectly fine, as not everyone resonates with one view of the world.

I am not here to say one belief is better than another, only to share my viewpoint so that you may further examine your own belief system, and come up with your own answers. I only pose what resonates with me at the time, hoping that it will resonate with you on some level and spur you to reach your own conclusions.

With that said, let’s talk about the rise in spirituality. What is it really? Why all of a sudden are people seeking what they had not sought before; searching in alternate philosophies, digging deeper into traditional religious texts as well as other ancient but obscure documents? What’s happening? And why now?

I’ll only attempt to answer a couple of the questions I have posed here with this post. Over the course of the next couple of weeks though, I will try to cover the other questions, as well as any others that might come to mind concerning this issue.

So, let’s take on, “Why all of a sudden are people seeking what they had not sought before…” This also will cover, “Why now?”

So why is it that people are seeking answers where they hadn’t sought them before? Easy, traditional teachings are not providing the answers to what people are facing today. Actually the teachings do, but the ones teaching do not because they are teaching from a limited and literal understanding of what is actually written in their texts.

But people are no longer satisfied to accept things blindly. For some even, they require hard evidence to the truth of things. All of this is nothing more than a desire for knowledge… a knowledge of God. (I use God throughout this post as a reference. That is my word for It. You may choose whatever fits with your belief system, for it is all the same, whatever the name.) This was referred to in ancient times as ‘gnosis.’ This is what the Gnostics were all about. They believed that one must have an ‘inner knowing of God’ to be a fully spiritual person. It is also believed by many that Jesus spent time with the Gnostics learning their teachings.

We are seeing this same concept today in many “New Age” texts. And one need look no further than any metaphysical, spiritual, or “New Age” teachings to see this is true. So why are people looking for answers though? Need you any more evidence as to this ‘why’ than the current state of affairs in the world?

Most people feel they and their reality are spinning out of control and ultimately believe they are powerless to do anything about it. But people are now receiving intuitive “nudges” that they are not powerless, but rather extremely powerful beings.

People’s beliefs are being shaken as they discover their religious icons are fallible and subject to regressing in their spiritual evolution. People are now thinking that there must be more to this than what we have been taught.

All religions contain truths and should not be dismissed because of the failure of another to hold to a higher standard than we expect of ourselves. However, one religion does not hold all the answers, but the answers must be taken from a study of religious beliefs down through the ages as cummulatively, they all hold all truths.

As I have read, studied, and contemplated my own existence over the last several years, I have come to many conclusions of what “the truth” really is. For me this is a natural and organic process, and one that I have returned to after many years of struggle and turmoil. Now however, things are different and I live a happier, fuller life than before.

So what about you? Do you feel fulfilled with where you currently are in life? Do you desire “change”? Are you seeking answers that will ultimately lead you to a more abundant and prosperous life? Are you in transition and struggling to understand all that is taking place around you? Do you desire “gnosis”?

If so, then let me help you. I can assist you in finding the answers you seek. I can provide you with a more enlightened and fulfilling outlook at reality, and assist you in creating that reality as you wish.

I currently have a few spots open for one-on-one coaching and would like to invite you to join me on a journey that will change your life over the next few months. You will be inspired to new heights, and will accomplish more than ever before. You will experience growth in all areas of your life. But you have to take me up on my offer. To do so, go check it out HERE!

I gratefully intend peace, abundance, and blessing for you,

Gary

Would YOU Like To Be FREE From Fear?

Posted on Dec 20th, 2007 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

Throughout my studies over the past few years of the law of attraction, dabbling in quantum physics, a little bit of metaphysics and other philosophies, I have noticed that there is one common way people are controlled in their lives.  It is by FEAR!

Fear is one of the major motivating factors for why people do what they do.  I heard this 10 years ago but didn't totally believe it at the time.  Now however, I find that it is very true.

Some common fears are:

  • Fear of not being accepted
  • Fear of being wrong
  • Fear of failure
  • Fear they will disappoint someone
  • Fear of being alone
  • Fear of not being noticed
  • Fear of not being included
  • Fear of success (which has its own underlying sub-fears)
  • Fear of disapproval

I'm sure you can add more to this if you think on it a while.

However, I propose a simple, effective solution to overcoming any fear you have or ever will have.  All it takes is a change of perspective.  You think you can do that?  I hope so.

First, let's get one thing out of the way right now.  You are causing your own fear.  No one else, just YOU.  Now that that is settled, let's get on with it.

When you experience a fear within yourself, it is actually nothing more than an indicator that you are not in alignment with whatever it is you are having the fear about.  It has nothing to do with what anyone else has told you, but has everything to do with the story you are telling yourself.

So fear is nothing more than a set of thought patterns that align in a given situation to produce the negative self-talk you have surrounding what you're having the fear about.

For instance, let's take Jeff.  Jeff has a really great job and it pays him extremely well.  However, Jeff is not truly happy.  He has to drag himself in to work every day.  He's just not satisfied anymore.

Conventional wisdom would dictate that even though Jeff isn’t happy in his job he should just "suck it up," and "soldier on!" (Ugh, I’ve heard that one before myself)  Especially since Jeff has a wife and three kids.  Oh yeah, he's gotta stay in that job because of them.

But does he really?

Let's look at how things might then transpire.

Jeff hates his job and he just gets more miserable each day he's there. He can't stand working there anymore.  Soon his productivity decreases.  A little at first, but then it's gotten very noticeable to his superiors.  Jeff gets called in to see his immediate supervisor and is told that he better straighten up or else.  Now Jeff is actually worried about losing the job, which he still hates, and all of his focus and attention are on "not losing the job."

What ends up happening is that Jeff gets fired from his job, his marriage falls apart because they don’t’ have the money to pay the bills any more, and he ends up living in a run-down apartment complex all alone… and still unhappy.

Not a pretty picture huh?

So, would it be wise for Jeff to actually stay in that position?  Or would it be better for Jeff to follow his dream and open a men's clothing store?  We all know that owning your own business takes work, especially a retail store.  Jeff would probably end up working long hours 6 or 7 days a week, leaving little time for his family.  His wife may not be real supportive of Jeff’s decision and may resent him not spending any time with the family any more.  This could lead to a breakdown in the marriage and ultimately to divorce.  So Jeff might be in the same situation as if he’d stayed in the job.

Almost.

Even though Jeff might lose his family, and even though he might still end up living in a run-down apartment complex, he’s got two things going for him.  He’s following his dream and he’s happy doing it.

Now some people would say that Jeff is being selfish in his decision to open a men’s retail clothing store.  Others may tell him things like, "It's crazy to start a business in this economy," "You'll really put yourself out on a limb with that idea," "The little guy never makes any money in retail anymore," "Why would you want to start your own business when you have a great job already?"  Add your own to these.  All of these are doing nothing more that attempting to put Jeff in a state of fear about opening up a men’s clothing store and to get him to “step in line” with conventional thought.

But suppose it went an even different way.

Jeff quits his job and opens a men’s clothing store.  His wife is supportive of him in his endeavor and even helps do the books.  As their children grow older then all work in the store with Dad and learn the value of action (work) and what inspired action can achieve.  All the children grow up to be well-balanced, with a good head on their shoulders (because Mom & Dad have taught them to be self-sufficient), and ready to take on any endeavor they choose

Now isn’t that a happier outcome all around?

But how are we supposed to overcome fear though?  We change our perspective.  We are allowing fear by listening to those voices that are not in alignment with our good.  We take the counsel of others whose vibrational alignment is not in tune with our own.  And we let all of these things ignite the fear within.

So the logical mind starts to doubt, and we really start listening to what others may be telling us.  But we have to quiet that logical mind and listen to our intuition.  You always know when you are truly listening to your intuition too.  It’s that feeling when you are truly connected to God/Source/the Universe/whatever your name for it.

What is your fear?

Merry Christmas and may peace, love, and harmony wash over you throughout the holidays.

Gary

Are You Looking Forward Or Backward?

Posted on Dec 18th, 2007 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

When we begin to work towards being more enlightened and more spiritual all sorts of things start coming out of the closet. We start bringing up old experiences and feelings. And most of them are the unpleasant ones.

But why are we going into the past to begin with? Look to the future, that’s where you are going. To keep looking back on your past as a guide to where you are going is ludicrous. You’re past does not determine your future, what you do NOW determines your future.

By looking back on these unpleasant past experiences we are holding ourselves back from the future we desire. Look at where you are and know that you are there as a result of your past. But you do not have to stay where you are. You can have the life you truly desire.

If you already have goals written down, what are you doing today to get you closer to achieving those goals? If you don’t have goals written down, do that first. Then ask yourself, “What can I do today to achieve my goals?”

That’s the ticket right there.

You must take action in order for your life to change. Although you may not know the answer to the above question, it will spur your subconscious into looking for an answer. Every night, before you go to sleep, visualize how you wish your life to be. Get into the feeling of having the life of your dreams and really feel it. Notice all the details of your surroundings in your visualization. The more details you can make it the better.

Do this for 5 minutes and make it as real as possible. This will set your subconscious into motion while you are sleeping to find the way to achieve that dream life. Do this every night and record what you dreamed the next morning. You’ll be surprised at the answers you will receive.

Peace, Abundance, and Blessings,

Gary

We Are All Perfect Spiritual Beings

Posted on Dec 17th, 2007 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

The quote below comes from a post in a Google Group I’m a member of and I thought I would share it and my response as well. I hope you get value from this.

“I realize that love now comes tainted with protection. I see a Friend shining as though their soul’s light is fully revealed in all its glory. A moment later I’m cautioning myself to find some flaw, some fault I shouldn’t overlook so that I’m safe from vulnerability. No one’s perfect I remind myself, then a list of their imperfections starts to run through my head. If it’s someone new, I begin to brace myself for the inevitable something that is probably there that I don’t yet see.”

This says to me that this person has some issues with distrust that they need to address. Somewhere along the way they seem to have been badly hurt when they offered love to someone. Or perhaps they have some feelings of betrayal from someone they loved. But by looking for “the inevitable something that is probably there” they are setting themselves up to be hurt once again.

The reason for this is because they are focused on not getting hurt when they offer love, and that is exactly what you get, hurt. Instead of looking for the flaws someone might have, and finding them (because we attract that which we hold focus on), try seeing a person as the perfect being that they truly are. We all come from God/Source/the Universe/whatever your name for it, which is perfect, so in turn we are perfect too.

The Bible states that we are made “in God’s image,” so looking deeply into that, God is a spiritual being, so thus we must be spiritual beings as well. Our bodies are just the hosts we choose to reside in while here on Earth.

So, what is it about us that is made in God’s image? Our spirit, our soul, our inner being. And that is the part of us that is perfect. To say that we are imperfect beings says that God (who is a perfect spiritual being) cannot create something perfect. That all of God’s creations are imperfect. BAH I say!

Our spirit is a perfect manifestation of God’s will, or Source’s intention, however you wish to say it. So, for us to live out a perfect life, we need to reconnect with Spirit.

When you are fully connected you will then see the joyous perfection that is in all of us. You will no longer seek out the “imperfections” that you now choose to focus on and cause yourself pain, but rather, you will look for the good in others and see them for what/whom they truly are; a perfect spiritual being capable of anything their heart desires. You receive that which you focus on, so change that which you look for and you will find that you will see it in everyone you meet.

In Joy and Peace,

Gary
