Awaken!

Posted on Jan 13th, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

Yes, that is what is happening, all across the globe. People are awakening to their spirituality; seeking universal truths, becoming responsible for their future, and past, and are creating a movement that is sweeping across the Earth.

Many people have sought shelter in traditional religious avenues, and that is ok. Others have gone to more secular teachings, while others still have gained a more esoteric view of religious beliefs and dogma. All of this is perfectly fine, as not everyone resonates with one view of the world.

I am not here to say one belief is better than another, only to share my viewpoint so that you may further examine your own belief system, and come up with your own answers. I only pose what resonates with me at the time, hoping that it will resonate with you on some level and spur you to reach your own conclusions.

With that said, let’s talk about the rise in spirituality. What is it really? Why all of a sudden are people seeking what they had not sought before; searching in alternate philosophies, digging deeper into traditional religious texts as well as other ancient but obscure documents? What’s happening? And why now?

I’ll only attempt to answer a couple of the questions I have posed here with this post. Over the course of the next couple of weeks though, I will try to cover the other questions, as well as any others that might come to mind concerning this issue.

So, let’s take on, “Why all of a sudden are people seeking what they had not sought before…” This also will cover, “Why now?”

So why is it that people are seeking answers where they hadn’t sought them before? Easy, traditional teachings are not providing the answers to what people are facing today. Actually the teachings do, but the ones teaching do not because they are teaching from a limited and literal understanding of what is actually written in their texts.

But people are no longer satisfied to accept things blindly. For some even, they require hard evidence to the truth of things. All of this is nothing more than a desire for knowledge… a knowledge of God. (I use God throughout this post as a reference. That is my word for It. You may choose whatever fits with your belief system, for it is all the same, whatever the name.) This was referred to in ancient times as ‘gnosis.’ This is what the Gnostics were all about. They believed that one must have an ‘inner knowing of God’ to be a fully spiritual person. It is also believed by many that Jesus spent time with the Gnostics learning their teachings.

We are seeing this same concept today in many “New Age” texts. And one need look no further than any metaphysical, spiritual, or “New Age” teachings to see this is true. So why are people looking for answers though? Need you any more evidence as to this ‘why’ than the current state of affairs in the world?

Most people feel they and their reality are spinning out of control and ultimately believe they are powerless to do anything about it. But people are now receiving intuitive “nudges” that they are not powerless, but rather extremely powerful beings.

People’s beliefs are being shaken as they discover their religious icons are fallible and subject to regressing in their spiritual evolution. People are now thinking that there must be more to this than what we have been taught.

All religions contain truths and should not be dismissed because of the failure of another to hold to a higher standard than we expect of ourselves. However, one religion does not hold all the answers, but the answers must be taken from a study of religious beliefs down through the ages as cummulatively, they all hold all truths.

As I have read, studied, and contemplated my own existence over the last several years, I have come to many conclusions of what “the truth” really is. For me this is a natural and organic process, and one that I have returned to after many years of struggle and turmoil. Now however, things are different and I live a happier, fuller life than before.

So what about you? Do you feel fulfilled with where you currently are in life? Do you desire “change”? Are you seeking answers that will ultimately lead you to a more abundant and prosperous life? Are you in transition and struggling to understand all that is taking place around you? Do you desire “gnosis”?

If so, then let me help you. I can assist you in finding the answers you seek. I can provide you with a more enlightened and fulfilling outlook at reality, and assist you in creating that reality as you wish.

I currently have a few spots open for one-on-one coaching and would like to invite you to join me on a journey that will change your life over the next few months. You will be inspired to new heights, and will accomplish more than ever before. You will experience growth in all areas of your life. But you have to take me up on my offer. Living Easy

Posted on Jan 17th, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

I was having a discussion yesterday with a few people, and I was explaining to them how we are the one and only cause of all stress in our lives. None of them agreed with me.

One lady pointed out that she had no control over her stress when she was taking care of her dying husband, then his death was even more stressful. She also pointed out that the man sitting in front of her was taking care of his ailing wife and he had no control over the stress this causes.

Well, it doesn’t matter what either of these people think, but it is absolutely true that we are the one and only cause of all the stress in our lives. No matter what the situation, we have the control to be either stressed or not. It’s all just a matter of choice.

You see, the woman that took care of her dying husband only felt stress because of her thoughts about the whole situation. I’m sure that she experiencd a myriad of emotions during this time. However, it was her choice to experience these emotions.

One thing that she was probably stressing about was the fact that she was losing her husband. Which is perfectly normal for anyone in that situation. But could this be “handled” differently with a more pleasant outcome? It sure can.

What this woman is actually doing is focusing on “her loss”. Get that? HER loss. She isn’t thinking that her husband is making a glorious transition to the Spirit plane, but instead she’s thinking of herself.

Now granted, she may feel sympathy towards her husband since he lingered on for quite some time, but does that mean she had to get stressed about it? Not at all.

When you look at death honestly and realize that all it is is a process everyone must go through in order to evolve to a higher plane of existence, death no longer has the “fear factor” that is so often associated with it. When you look at death in this way, you can only conclude that the individual is truly better off because they have evolved beyond our physical plane.

So if you look at the death of someone as being a stressful, emotion filled experience, then you must remember that you are only thinking of yourself. You THINK you are concerned about the death of this person, but in all actuality you are more concerned about the void created in your life by this person’s death. Isn’t that a bit selfish?

And really, when everyone goes back to the home of the individual, and mopes around with a “Woe is ME!” attitude, isn’t that wallowing in our own self-pity? Shouldn’t we instead celebrate the life of this person and their successful transition? Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to have a big party with everyone having a good time, toasting the life of the individual?

That’s what I’d rather have, and although I haven’t discussed it with my wife yet, I know she will respect my wishes and have a big blow-out party. Yes, celebrate that I have made my transition! Celebrate the time I had here on earth! Celebrate the accomplishments I’ve experienced! CELEBRATE, CELEBRATE, CELEBRATE!

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that I’m looking forward to death any time soon. Oh no, not at all. I personally feel I have much work to do here on Earth, and that I have only just begun with it all.

So do you effectively “handle” stress? Do people at work really irritate you? Are you easily irritated? And how do you look at death? Is it something stressful? Or is it a joyous transitional experience that should be celebrated? Would you like to learn how better to “handle” the stress you experience? Would you like to find out how to be at peace with yourself and all around you? Then go HERE to find out how you can do that.

Peace, Abundance, and Blessings,

Gary

Karma, Or Do Unto Others…

Posted on Jan 22nd, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

Karma as defined by Jane L. Robertson & Deborah Hughes in their book, “Metaphysical Primer” is actually nothing more than “cause and effect”. And when we really take a close look at the Law of Karma, that is exactly what it shows us.

This is not some “New Age” thinking, oh no. It is illustrated in The Bible in Luke 6:31 “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This is also known as The Golden Rule.

What that Bible passage is telling us is that in order for us to be treated the way we wish, then we must treat others as we wish to be treated. Basically this boils down to a matter of respecting other’s rights.

Now, according to the Law of Karma, we receive back that which we put forth. Hmm, sound similar to something else I just said?

Many people believe that if they do wrongs in this lifetime, they will pay for them in the next lifetime. Well I propose that there is a more immediate reaction and result that manifests itself in our current daily lives.

For example, a person cuts you off and you get angry, curse, give them the “finger”, and just spew forth wilingly and profusely a torrent of negativity. And it’s all aimed at the other person.

Say you are on your way home from work when this happens, and you fume all the way home about this ” *@!$()_*$# idiot driver”. By the time you get home you are in a very ripe mood and you walk in the house. Your spouse, or significant other, is already home sitting in front of the TV with the newspaper lying on the floor beside the chair. You immediately go into a tirade about how they should learn to pick up after themselves, and on and on it goes.

You have just entered the “Karma Zone.”

As you continue to vent your frustration on your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, house mate, room mate, significant other, whatever, you immediately get back from them what you are giving them. Well, perhaps not immediately, but for most people, you soon draw them into your negativity and at that point “it is ON!”

Rewind a bit.

You get cut off in traffic on the way home. You immediately feel the rise of anger within you and you let it surface. But instead of regurgitating a stream of profanities at this person, you decide to just let go of the anger, and say a silent prayer that this person does not cause someone harm.

You’ve just turned a negative into a positive, and when you get home you still find the same situation as above, but you walk in, kiss the person, ask them about their day, and begin your daily unwind from the “world of work”. In the end you have no fight with your partner, you enjoy a fantastic meal with each other, then settle in for a night of watching TV, reading, talking, whatever pleases you both.

At the end of the day, you’ll feel much better than if you had taken the negative route in this situation.

So Karma can and does have a more immediate effect on our lives than we sometimes give it. Does this mean we should be scared of the Law of Karma? Nope. By having the knowledge that this law does exist and is at work in our lives every minute of every day, we begin to focus on doing what our inner selves know is right for the situation.

I hope this post has been of value to you.  Please feel free to leave a comment on this or any other posts.

Peace, Abundance, and Blessings,

Gary

Lessons From Daisy

Posted on Jan 26th, 2008 by Gary : Visional Virtuoso Gary

Pets can provide us with many lessons while they are in our lives. One main lesson they teach us is unconditional love. That’s what I receive from my dog Daisy on a constant basis.

Daisy is an exceptional dog though, at least that’s what people say. We got her when she was 6 weeks old and I had her housebroken in 2 weeks. That’s when she first went to the door by herself and scratched, letting us know she wanted to go “out”. During those 2 weeks, she never did anything put pee in a few places. She never pooped. As a matter of fact, she only did that once and she was sick at the time. Anyway, I digress.

Daisy

Daisy is a very loving dog. When someone comes to the house, she picks up immediately whether they are a friend or not from us. Once they enter, she gives them a very boisterous welcome like they are a long lost friend just back from an extended trip. Heck, I get treated this way every time I come in the house, no matter whether I just left, or have been gone for hours or days. It’s hard to come home in a bad mood and stay that way with Daisy around.

Our pets actually accept us as we all wish to be accepted really. Without judgment. Well, that is if they aren’t mistreated. They love us no matter what we do. We can fail miserably at something and still our pets will greet us at the door with love. We can get fired from our job, and still it doesn’t matter to them. Some of you may say, well they are only dumb animals after all, but they are far more intelligent than we give them credit. And really, since we have not mastered unconditional love, are we that much more evolved than they are? If only we humans could master unconditional love, the world would definitely be a much better place.

It seems every where you go, you are always being judged by someone, for one reason or other. People we don’t even know, and would probably never know, will look at us and immediately judge us on our looks, what we are wearing, how we are carrying ourselves, whether we’re with someone or not, the list goes on and on. How many times have you been judged by someone you love because you didn’t do what they thought you should do? And how many times have you judged someone yourself? I’m sure if you look deep in your memory (for some you might not have to think that far back) and I’m sure you’ll find an instance when you judged someone, be it unfairly or not.

But our pets don’t do that to us. If we do raise our voice to them and spout off with a stream of negativity, they still come to us with love in their hearts. If we perhaps forget to feed them on time, they still show us loving adoration. Plain and simple, they just love us for being who we are. No matter what we do, they will send back a steady stream of love to us.

So the next time you feel yourself judging someone, think about your pet and the unconditional love you receive from them. Then look at that person you were getting ready to judge and send loving vibrations towards them.

You might be surprised at what could happen.

Peace, Abundance, and Blessings,

Gary
